We are based in Chiang Mai in the north of the country which is the ideal base to explore all of the things Thailand is synonymous with. After finishing your placement on a Friday afternoon its extremely easy to find yourself on the island paradise of Koh Samui on a Friday evening, staying in a beachfront bungalow, ready to explore the world famous beaches the following morning.
Being a tourist stalwart for many years now, Thailand is a country that is well practiced in welcoming tourists. Our Chiang Mai base is perfect as it is a province that welcomes tourism but is rural enough for you to feel you are still pleasantly situated off the beaten track.
The hospitals we work with here allow students to spend time in Paediatrics, Internal Medicine, General Surgery and Obstetrics. Students get a great insight into healthcare in Thailand and can draw direct comparisons between healthcare in Asia and back home. Shadowing your student mentor Mon-Fri in the hospital with teaching sessions three times per week combined with travel opportunities like no other, a visit to Thailand is an unrivaled experience.
