Where you’ll be living

The Gap Medics house in Jodhpur will be your home when you are on your healthcare placement with us. The house is comprised of two adjoining villas, meaning that students can benefit from having twice as many social areas and plenty of space to relax and get to know fellow students who join us from all over the world. The accommodation is arranged into single-sex air-conditioned bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, designed for a maximum of 36 students.

The second villa (pictured) houses a large dining room and kitchen, while the first villa has two common rooms and BBQ area. There are great outside spaces where you can take advantage of our evening yoga classes, led by an expert yoga master on our spacious terraces at sunset. Classes are, of course, entirely optional, but it’s a fantastic way to relax and tone up after a day at the hospital, whatever your ability.

India is of course famous for its food, and our caterer cooks up amazing curries and local dishes as well as international favourites from stir-fried chicken to pizzas! It’s a great place to be vegetarian (as many Indians are), and as always, we’re happy to cater for other dietary requirements as best we can. We also have a full time housekeeper who makes sure everything is kept clean and tidy as well as 24-hour security for complete peace of mind.

A short auto-rickshaw ride away from the Gap Medics house is the central station, which opens up a world of opportunities for weekends – from exploring Agra and the Taj Mahal to going on camel safaris and camping adventures. India’s bus and train network is efficient, cheap and great fun!
