Dentistry Work Experience Thailand

Our Thailand pre-dental work experience placements are based in the dental unit of our partner hospital in Chiang Mai. You’ll be allocated a senior dentist as your student mentor for the duration of your placement and will get to gain a unique insight into dentistry in Thailand to help you in your dentistry applications and in your future career.

Cases within the hospital are varied and students will get to see extractions, fillings, and root canals aswell as some dental surgeries also within the hospital.

Our dental students receive their own clinical teaching sessions focused on dentistry to give you the best insight possible into your chosen profession and you are also more than welcome to take part in the clinical teaching sessions focused on medicine and nursing too should you wish.

Dentistry in Thailand can be very different to that in the UK, America, Canada or Australia, but there will be alot of similarities too and your experience on a dental placement with us in Thailand is a great way of drawing comparisons between Western and Asian healthcare.

Your typical working hours will be from 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday and if there are particularly interesting cases or surgeries that you would like to stay and see you are welcome to do so.

Our base in Chiang Mai affords plenty of great travelling and exploring to be done at weekends, all easily arranged with the help of your programme manager in the Gap Medics house.
